Volleyball is an exciting team sport where two teams of six players
compete to score points by grounding the ball on the opponent’s
court. In the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), matches follow a
structured format determining the winning team.
Match Format
Best-of-five sets: The first team to win three sets claims victory.
Scoring System
Rally scoring: A point is awarded on every rally, regardless of
which team served.
The team that wins a rally earns the right to serve the ball for the
next play.
Sets 1-4
The first team to reach 25 points wins the set.
A team must win by at least two points (e.g., 25-23).
If the score is tied at 24-24, play continues until one team secures
a two-point lead.
Set 5 (if necessary)
The first team to reach 15 points wins the set.
A two-point lead is required to secure the victory (e.g., 15-13).
If the score is tied at 14-14, play continues until one team
achieves a two-point advantage.
